On this episode, we take a look at repairing a blown subwoofer. This broken speaker blew a couple of years ago while I had them at the office. I replaced the entire set, but boxed the old one up and brought it home because I knew the problem. However, it does seem to have some other problems after sitting in the garage for a couple of years, but that's for a different show.
This is a tutorial/intro on WSJT-X & the mode FT8.
FT8 is a fantastic newer digital mode that can be used with low power and in poor conditions. An excellent way to collect DXCC entities with less than optimal antenna system.
In this video we go over a few keys to contesting in Amateur Radio. This is for the novice contester, but sometimes its good to have a refresher after contesting for a while.
Marc, N4UFP, and I get together to talk about, build and test the ZS6BKW antenna. This is a much MUCH better performer than the heavily marketed G5RV! If you're only going to have one antenna, this is THE ONE to have. Easily built with readily available parts. The only thing you can't really get from your local hardware store is the ladder line, but you can almost always find it at any hamfest or from your favorite ham radio retailer.
I took the Holidays to clean out and organize my garage. Then, it got out of hand and I decided to paint and use it for my YouTube studio. Setting up lights, stands, cameras in my normal living space takes a ton of time and slows down the creative process and since the channel is growing, I thought it was time to have a better space. I still have some work to do, but its already a lot easier for me to use. Also, I still wanted the ability to pull something in or even park a car if I needed to so I still have room to do that. It took a lot of paint and a few weekends to get everything this far. I look forward to bringing you new content in 2021 and hope we have some fun doing it! 73 de Brad AE4VJ vjarray.com
This Episode we are in sunny Orlando, FL for the 2020 Orlando Hamcation. My favorite hamfest of the entire year! WX was excellent again this year and I was able to get a few guys from the local area to come out as well.
Hamcation 2021 will be the ARRL National Convention so make plans now!
JS8Call is a new digital mode that gives us a lot of communications options based on the FT8 protocol.
We get to talk to Steve, W3SPC and what got him into POTA ops and some of the features of the program.

In this episode, we go over how to transition from coax to ladder line. Its not that complicated really. Sometimes, all you need is someone to spark an idea ...
